Google Play Books - Books & Comics App Reviews

As a librarian working for one of the largest library systems in the world I can say with authority that Google Books bar none as the largest collection of free digitalized content. You can find classics, historical periodicals, and treatises free of charge. The feature I enjoy the most is the seamless synchronization between all devices, for instance phones, tablets and e-readers. Im hooked.

I like the easy way you can upload books to Google books however I have yet to find a way to get them out again. Similar to this if you want to read books by the same author the app does not allow you group books or organize by themes etc. This would be helpful as I am constantly adding books...then I cant find them. Overall its an ok app with good features for reading such as adjusting the brightest and size of font.

Would rate 5 but the lack of ability to browse and purchase books is frustrating.

iPad installed version 10.1.1 The current version starts up, flashes the books you have in your library, then shunts off to the home screen. It does not close completely, but it does not provide access. Either do not load this version until it is fixed or be cautious about getting the upgrades. Normally this is a 5 app. This version should not receive a rating, but no stars is not permitted. I will update once it is repaired.

There are a great selection of books from a wide range and I love the formatting! 11/10!

Note that you can upload only up to 1,000 of your own "found" books on this app. I would also like to see more sorting options

I read A LOT and the fact that this app keeps track of where I am in a book on multiple devices means that its part of my essential toolbox.

AndroidからiPhoneへの移行組みで、最初はGoogle Play Storeが無くて、どうやって本を買い足そうかと悩んだけど、Chromeブラウザを入れてplay storeにログインしたら普通に買えたので、iPhone乗り換え後も暫くはPlayBooksを活用できそう。 Androidのように、購入した本や漫画のシリーズ表示に対応すればいいのに…。（まぁ、あまりうまく機能していないけどね。）

Useless, painfully slow piece of junk. Nobody can convice me to this made by Google.

Since the upgrade, I dont like this app anymore, the old version was a gazzillion times better!

Excellent and easy to find any kind of books in goggle s store. You can upload your books and share with your other devices.

Good application. Easy to use.

Application is good but theres no possibility to purchase the books. Even the prices are lower than the Amazon. App need some improvements. For example prices are not shawn and we can not click on the author name to go to their list of books after searching. And there is no way to display our wishlist in the app.

Google offers wide range of books so from this point of view this apps is great. I like general program layout and functionalities. It is very important for me to be able to annotate my e-books, highlight text with different colors and so on. This function is present in almost everyone e-book reader. Its also here. Unfortunately it doesnt work as it should as highlighting text is very difficult and practically impossible. I can highlight single word but then stretching marking to sentences or paragraphs simply doesnt work. It worry me and I cant give the highest rate for this application. I hope Google will fix it soon so I will be able to change my rating to five stars.

How is that suppose to be useful, if it is not possible to buy the whole book, only samples???

Please correct the mechanism of displaying pdf. Ive uploaded several high-quality magazines, which are displayed perfectly fine via google drive but poorly in Google books.

Hey Googlers, On my IPad 2 mini - selecting text inside books is tough - takes few mins every time - please make UX better Also, I want to be able to purchase on my IPad - why not? Thx and appreciate your work
