Google Play Books - Books & Comics App Reviews

Notice a lot of differences between my android tablet and my iPhone. If I could Id still use my tablet but its old and battery doesnt stay charged long. So I end up using my iPhone. I run into an issue every now and then with the books not being downloaded but since its a phone I just download them again.

Real quick and painless

I can read my books whenever and wherever I want. I dont have to struggle to look for my books or worry bout bookmarking to keep my place. One of the best apps Ive tried so far.

I found it as a great reading app with many options

I dont know what happened. Ive used versions of this app on both Android and iOS for years. Lately, books take 15 or 20 minutes to download, if at all. The spinner hangs and blinks and resets.

I like google books has great books and cost are good.i use my on my iPhone.

I have had no problems loading books or reading them on my I phone. The books are VERY reasonably priced, I got 3 newer books on Google Play for the price of one hardcover!

With this APP Ive been able to find the books that I like to read, while waiting in Doctors offices, etc.

Was able to read just 8 pages of purchased book - frozen while trying to get next page. Is it so difficult to make working reading applications?

I was so frustrated with this app. I just tried my first book. When I would close the app it wouldnt remember where I was reading. It crashes twice. It also made highlights I didnt make and forgot highlights I did make. Then when I tapped on a highlight it took me to a random place in the book and I had to flip though several chapters to figure out where the highlight was. Overall incredibly frustrating. Ill stick to Kindle and iBooks.

This is my preferred reading app. Google could pay it more attention as far as features and updates, but its the the most functional of its ilk.

Love this app. I wish they had more of the titles that I look for, it seems like amazon has more titles but its great overall!

As a reader app it does the job solidly! I can easily read any book I have purchased through Google however the browsing abilities of the app are severely lacking. I dont want to peruse articles as much as I want to look for more books I might find an interest in. When opening the app there is a decent "recommended for you" list but with no way to change or extend the list, search a new list or simply refresh the list without going through a "build your interests" type form. Obviously, I can browse on a desktop or laptop but that isnt as convenient as being able to do it from the same device I just finished reading from. It could also benefit from manipulating the screen timer. Its quite frustrating to constantly have to unlock the phone because the screen times itself out on every page.

Great when books open, but its a struggle of error messages, closing and reopening the app, and buffering circles to finally get a title to open. Once you can, it works fine I guess.

Fucking tired to open books that I bought!!

App hangs while opening book. I cant read the book I paid for. Its just unacceptable. Ive been waiting for a fix for more than month! Fix it!

This is one of the glitchiest apps Ive used, almost useable but even if you manage to get to the book itself it cuts off pages. Really surprised that a google product is this bad.

A great way to have electronic books at hand. Great for downloading and having good airplane reading. As a Family member, I also have access to my wifes library.

My book stopped loading so now I cant finish it!!! Great! :((( Ill never use this app again!!!
