Google Play Books - Books & Comics App Reviews

This is an okay app but it takes a while for one of my books to download. I mean the only reason I have this app is so I wouldnt have to buy all the books I have again in the Apple bookstore. I was hoping there was a way to transfer them but there isnt. I am hoping they fix the time delay soon.

Ian reading many interesting books on various subjects.

Had this on my Samsung & loved it. Now have it on my iPhone & iPad. Love that it sync to both. Only complaint is when turning pages I have to zoom out, turn the page then zoom in & center. They should update so it remembers my reading size preference.

I dont know why there are many negative reviews on this reading app. For me I really enjoy it. I have no problem so far with this app on my iPhone 6.

Nice surprise with Googles support for global e-book titles including Korea. Very much satisfied.

I love that my wife and I can buy a book and read it at the same time! Amazon says they also have that feature, but it only works if you buy their device. It isnt supported on iOS, Android, or the Web. We switched all our book purchases to Google Play books, and now were happy!

App doesnt keep screen awake though that might be an apple thing? Other than that it had been working fine. I do get a non stop loading screen sometimes but one I swipe away the app the app switcher, it reloads and is fine

You cant see the full cover of books on your phone, and cant zoom. So I cant tell if Im going to read book one or five of a series without opening and consequently downloading it. It would be great if I could search my own books for words. Why cant I do that with my uploads?

Ive used Amazon, Apple and Googles book app. Google is the easiest to use hands down across all of my devices.

Well done app and about the only one in which new books can be ordered from your phone or tablet. Kindle and Nook are good too, but new books still have to be ordered from a laptop or desk computer.

As an iPad user with an Android phone, that Play-Books (seriously Google, the name of your apps... I wince to type them, feeling a sullied shame as if I were typing a confession that I killed Laura Palmer)... But, I digress... that Play-Books is available on both platforms is very convenient. Unfortunately, the current version, routinely and repeatedly closes/crashes before a person can even read a page thus rendering the app about as useful as nipples on a breastplate. If/when this glaring fault is corrected, the app will be what it once was for iOS and still is on Android, an able, if not the best, reader.

This app makes reading easy and fun on the go.

Frequent crashes. Incredible slow downloads. Im done buying Google books.

Horrible availability in foreign books.

Since updating today, I cant load the book I was reading. I guess Ill delete the app and start from scratch, remembering never to update a Google app.

Personal ePub upload is hit or miss... presumably due to vulnerabilities in loading varying ePub file structures When it works, its nice... I especially like the auto sync of highlights & notes to a google doc that I can then share with ease... synergies like that across an ecosystem of tools are a productivity force multiplier
